Our FAA Certifications
Firefly works hand-in-hand with the FAA, local municipalities, and event producers to ensure full compliance across every state we operate in.
Exemption No. 22830 (AFS-24-01202-E)
Granted to Firefly Drone Shows, LLC, this exemption permits Firefly to operate multiple Firefly Gen2 small unmanned aircraft systems (weighing less than 55 lbs) to carry and trigger pyrotechnics and smoke devices in drone light show events.
Certificate of Waiver 107W-2025-03022
This waiver allows sUAS operations higher than 400 feet above ground level (i.e. waives 14 CFR § 107.51(b), the altitude limitation) up to 500 feet AGL, under specified conditions.

Full-Time Pilots
Every Firefly show is operated by licensed drone pilots trained in live-show procedures.
Proprietary Software
Our software watches every drone during the entire show. It detects drift, spacing issues, and unusual movement, then alerts our pilots instantly so they can respond before small issues become significant problems.
Full In-House Manufacturing
We design, build, and maintain our own drones. This lets us oversee every detail from the frame to the batteries. When our pilots fly, they know exactly what is in the sky and how it will behave.

Choreography is flown in simulation and in real-world conditions to verify smooth transitions and collision-free spacing.

We analyze wind, temperature, humidity, and nearby structures to determine safe flight windows and fallback plans.
